This weekend was our school annual fundraiser called the Spring Spectacular. The PTA puts it on and it is a huge event. There are games, horse rides, a garage sale, silent auction, raffle prizes, and our favorite: food booths from numerous different ethnicities. This year, my favorite food was the Vietnamese eggrolls and the French crepes with Nutella. Aden had a blast seeing all the people there and was a big hit with our students. Jamie took his turn at the sponge toss. Unfortunately, just as a slew of high schoolers found out he was there, his shift was over. He wasn't disappointed at all.
I'm continuing to recover from my eye surgery. The first few days were rough, but then the pain subsided. I'd say my vision is almost 100%. Sometimes I have trouble with reading on screens (like the computer) but most of the time I'm fine. It has been almost surreal to not have to deal with contacts or glasses anymore.
As a way to say thank you to Jamie for always driving me to the doctor and taking care of me during recovery, the first thing I made with my new KitchenAid was crust for an apple pie. We finished the last pieces on the 14th which was very fitting since it was Pi Day! It has been a lot of fun to use our new "toy" and are currently experimenting with making breads. Homemade bagels are my next big project to tackle.
Below are some pictures and a special message from Aden who really wanted to type on the computer:
